Alonso capitalises on Red Bull woe

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso took maximum advantage of a Korean Grand Prix to forget for Red Bull after winning the inaugural race at Yeongam and moving to the top of the standings.

Alonso moved 11 points clear of Mark Webber at the top of the drivers’ standings after both he and team-mate Sebastian Vettel failed to finish.

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton was second and Ferrari’s Felipe Massa third after Webber crashed out of a rain-affected race and Vettel’s engine failed while leading.
