Almost down to the wire now in your Premier League relegation betting and still nothing is settled. Well, it looks as if you can stick a fork in West Ham because they are done. So that leaves a fascinating fight for survival. There are still just three points between bottom side West Ham and Blackburn who are just above the drop zone. Blackburn are just three points on from that at the moment, so if they lose and a couple of surprise victories happen below them, it is going to be a thrilling finish. Here is our updated and adjusted guide to Premier League relegation betting, as we see what the remaining fixtures could have left in store for the Championship threatened teams. Norwich City and QPR are coming back to the top flight of English football next season, to be joined by a playoff team. Who will they be replacing. The W’s are still occupying the bottom three spots in the league at the moment, so those teams either need to start winning, or quickly change their names. What further twists are there to come? Who will be the Houdini of the 2010/11 Premier League season. This really could end up with say four teams ending up on the same amount of points, which would make for awesome entertainment. With the fixture lists set up the way they are and with just three matches left now in this season, this could be a defining weekend in the 2010/11 Premier League relegation betting.
West Ham Utd – 35 points from 32 games
2010/11 Premier League Relegation Odds: 1/3 at Unibet
We can realistically count West Ham out of the Premier League next season. Avram Grant reckons he needs seven points for the Hammers to be safe. That’s easy enough to say, but not to do when you are in their position. That is five defeats on the bounce now, after losing to Manchester City on the weekend. Just don’t see a win coming from anywhere at the moment. You look at their fixture list and see matches against Blackburn and Wigan, which, if they rewarded six points then West Ham would look safe. However, confidence must be low, the pressure is really on and they need a victory on the weekend against Blackburn if they are going to hang on to their Premier League status. There is a chance because Blackburn’s form has been pretty woeful too. The Hammers do need a bit of help with results going their way, because if they win and Blackpool and Wigan win too, the Hammers will still pretty much be in the same predicament. Blackburn at Upton Park have to be beaten, however, as hard as you can see the Hammers battling, winning, well can’t see that happening quite so much. A draw sounds about right, keeping them on a projected finish of 36 points, which spells Championship.
Away to Chelsea (L) – Correct!
Away to Man City (L) – Correct!
Home to Blackburn (D)
Away to Wigan (L)
Home to Sunderland (W)
West Ham Relegation Betting Tip: They look down at the moment, and if they don’t beat Blackburn it will be relegation for the Hammers. They are not going to get out of the hole they are in. A team with five defeats on the bounce doesn’t suddenly start winning all of their games.
Projected total: 36 pts
Wolves – 34 points from 35 games
2010/11 Premier League Relegation Odds: 4/6 at SkyBet
Well, Wolves have been reading our script apparently. The Midlands side and their Premier League survival have fallen into plans with our predictions over the past three games. They have picked up two points out of their last three matches, and have now completed their game in hand which they had over the other sides. They are just one point away from safety at the moment, and need to dig out a massive win. We have predicted that this next match on the weekend against West Brom was going to be their only win during their run in. They need it, because things are still so tight down at the moment. The draw away against Birmingham was crucial to them, as now with a win they can pull two points clear of Blackpool and Wigan (assuming they both lose). Wolves are still on the bubble, but there are still points available for them. A Midlands derby should get them all ramped up at home on the weekend, where three points could really be their salvation. There are just three games left now for them to rescue themselves. They are still struggling to score and haven’t won in their last five matches now, but we still fancy them to pull themselves to safety. The bookies are thinking that was as well. It is going to have to be a win against rivals West Brom if it is going to happen.
Home to Fulham (D) – correct!
Away to Stoke (L) – correct!
Away to Birmingham (D) – correct!

Wolves Relegation Betting Tip: Wolves are still on for their projected finish of 38 points at the moment. A win must come in their last three games, and this could be their big chance. Not easy, but the home crowd should be the 12th man.
Projected total: 38 pts
Wigan – 34 points from 33 games
2010/11 Premier League Relegation Odds: 8/13 at Boylesports
Don’t know what to make of Wigan really. Fourteen drawn matches on the season, means that they have only lost roughly the same amount of matches as mid table teams. Still, there they are in the bottom three, the Premier League’s lowest scoring team and there is still hope. After getting defensively spanked by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, Wigan battened down the hatches and held Everton, one of the most in form teams at the moment, to a draw. That was a valuable point which kept them in touch. There is some hope for Wigan’s survival because of the fixture list in front of them. There are two tricky away matches to Villa and Stoke, but a point from either of those would go a long way, and then they could bank on beating West Ham in their final home game of the season. Still in danger and looks like it will be a battle between them and Wolves to avoid that last relegation spot to join Blackpool and West Ham going down.
Away to Sunderland (D) – wrong, lost 4-2
Home to Everton (L) – wrong, drew
Away to Villa (L)
Home to West Ham (W)
Away to Stoke (L)
Wigan Relegation Betting Tip: Grabbed a precious point against Everton. You never know, three more draws and they may just have done enough. There is potential there, they just need to find ways to score. A point against Villa at least and they would do themselves a huge favour. Still, projected finish is 38 points which is right on the bubble.
Projected total: 38 pts
Blackpool – 35 points from 35 games
2010/11 Premier League Relegation Odds: 2/7 at SkyBet
The men in orange are showing a bit of fight at the moment. Two draws in their last two games has been vital points in keeping their head above water. They are on 35 points level with Wigan, and only being one better in the goal difference than Wigan is keeping them in the Premier League at the moment. You look at the form of the bottom four teams and Blackpool’s really stinks. They are without a win in eight matches now, picking up just three draws in that period. That is in contrast to West Ham who have picked up seven points in their last eight, Wolves who have picked up nine, and even Wigan who have earned 8. That is why we still think Blackpool are going to be biting the dust in the Premier League this season. They are not helped by a pretty rough last three matches on their fixture list. Trying to save relegation points on trips to White Hart Lane and Old Trafford is the last thing you want. They are still average a point per game on the season, and 38 points could be safe. But they are unlikely to get that much looking at the fixtures.
Home to Newcastle (D) – correct!
Home to Stoke (L) – wrong, draw
Away to Spurs (L)
Home to Bolton (D)
Away to Man Utd (L)
Blackpool Relegation Betting Tip: They are currently on the points total which we projected for them. Still, don’t see another win coming in their last three matches, maybe they’ll scrape a point against Bolton at home, but it’ll be curtains for the seasiders.
Projected total: 36 pts
Blackburn – 38 points from 33 games
2010/11 Premier League Relegation Odds: 9/2 at Totesport
Finally Blackburn won a game. That puts their form at just one win in their last eight matches. That is why they are just three points from safety at the moment. After losing to Man City, their three points against Bolton will have lifted a huge amount of pressure off the club. The three point cushion they hold at the moment could just be enough to see them safe, and this weekend’s match against bottom side West Ham really is their pick chance to secure their status. The following match against Man Utd should pretty much be a write off, but then they have another chance for points against Wolves on the final day. Their form is a big worry though, and they need to capitalise on that three points from the Bolton match. Expecting them to break the forty point barrier which will see them safe.
Home to Man City (L) – correct!
Home to Bolton (L) – wrong, won
Away to West Ham (D)
Home to Man Utd (L)
Away to Wolves (W)
Blackburn Relegation Betting Tip: Just enough to stay afloat. Tough times for the new owners at Blackburn, relegation would be a disaster. Still, enough from the fixture list to rebuild for next year.
Projected total: 42 pts
