Spurs target Inter revenge

Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to correct their epic 4-3 Champions League loss at Internazionale a fortnight ago by seeing off the Italian giants at White Hart Lane on Tuesday evening.

The Londoners endured a miserable start in Milan as they fell 4-0 behind at the interval and had goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes dismissed for hauling live-wire striker Jonathan Biabiany down in the penalty area.

However, despite their numerical disadvantage, Spurs refused to give in and a fantastic second half hat-trick from Gareth Bale brought them back into contention.

Their stirring fightback will have raised morale and, with the holders making their way to the capital this week, there is real optimism ahead of the plum clash.

All eyes will be on the impressive Bale once more, but the likes of Samuel Eto’o, Wesley Sneijder, Javier Zanetti and Maicon are genuine world-class forces and they will be out to bolster their sitting at the top of Group A.

Manager Harry Redknapp may well be confident of picking up at least a point with Peter Crouch, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Aaron Lennon and the returning Rafael van der Vaart in his ranks.
