In formula one, Adrian Sutil has agreed a new contract with Force India, according to the German driver’s manager.

The 27-year-old finished 11th in the drivers’ championship in the season just ended with 47 points, and his best finish was a fifth place at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Sutil’s team-mate Antonio Liuzzi has already signed a contract for next year.

In rugby league, Warrington Wolves have named the 37-year-old Samoan Willie Poching as their new assistant coach.

Poching, who had been working in a similar role at Leeds until earlier in the year, replaces James Lowes, who joined the Rhinos on Saturday.

In cricket, Australia will give Michael Clarke as long as possible to prove his fitness ahead of the first Test against England.

The Baggy Greens vice-captain is struggling with a back problem and missed training on Monday but captain Ricky Ponting confirmed they would “probably wait until Thursday” before making a decision on Clarke.

Manchester City have denied that a deal has already been done for Emmanuel Adebayor to join Juventus on loan in January.

The 26-year-old Togo international has been a peripheral figure in Roberto Mancini’s team so far this season and reportedly was involved in a angry exchange with the Italian earlier in the year.

Since moving to Eastlands from Arsenal in July 2009 for a fee thought to be in the region of £25million, Adebayor has found the net 19 times in 44 appearances for City but has started only two Premier League games so far this season.

In golf, Martin Kaymer has decided to continue playing in Europe rather than in America next year.

The 25-year-old German is eligible to play in the USA after winning the USPGA title in August.

Rory McIlroy said earlier this month that he would play in Europe in 2011 while world number one Lee Westwood has also pledged to stay.
